I recall the first time I learned about Broccoli Salad. My first thought was “Raisins AND Bacon in the same recipe? And with broccoli? That sounds gross!”
But, I was wrong! I reluctantly tried it and to my surprise, I fell in love with it.
This recipe is perfect for potlucks, barbeques, and parties. It’s a quick and easy dish that can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until time to eat. Those are my favorite types of dishes to take to parties because you don’t have to worry about heating up your dish. Just grab it from the fridge when it’s time to eat, add a spoon and it’s ready to eat!
The original recipe that I received had sugar and apple cider vinegar in it. I eliminated those and created my own recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
5 cups broccoli florets
1/2 c raisins
1/4 c chopped red onions
1/2 c sliced almond
1/4 c bacon pieces
2 tbsp mayonnaise
Salt, a dash
Pepper, a dash
Mix ingredients together in a medium bowl. My favorite mixing bowls are from The Pioneer Woman.
Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.

This is hands down, the best guacamole I’ve ever had! And the best part? It’s super simple to make. I honestly think it will become a staple in this house. The kids devoured it as soon as I finished taking photos of the food for this blog post. That’s how good it is!
Let me preface this by saying I was not a fan of guacamole at all. Not sure why, though. Maybe it was because of the ingredients in the ones that I’d tried? Who knows! One day something just clicked and I was like, “This is what I’ve been missing out on?!?” I am now kicking myself for all of those times I’ve ordered dishes that had guacamole with them and I declined the guac. What was wrong with me?

In European folklore, mermaids (often called sirens) were natural beings that had magical powers. They loved music and often sang. Much of the modern interpretation of mermaids can be credited to Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” and the Disney movie of the same name. Over the years, mermaids have become a popular party theme.

Who doesn’t love a Big Mac? What if you could have a healthier version? Would you try it? I came across the recipe for this salad a few months ago and couldn’t wait to give it a try.
It’s very simple as it only has four ingredients; chopped pickles, shredded cheese, cooked hamburger meat, and thousand island dressing. Just mix and eat!
I have to say that my favorite pickles and Thousand Island dressing are what make this recipe so yummy!
The question that is on everyone’s mind at this point is, “Does this really taste like a Big Mac?” My answer? Yes and no.
Yes, it reminds me of the taste but for obvious reasons it does not taste exactly like a McDonald’s Big Mac because Thousand Island dressing and McDonald’s Big Mac sauce are not the exact same flavor. But, I think it’s a great alternative and is Keto-friendly and you don’t feel like you are missing out on a Big Mac!
I know that I’ve seen several different ways to make this recipe. However, this is my favorite way to eat it and is my go-to recipe as it’s quick and easy. Do you have another recipe for Big Mac Salad? What’s your favorite way to eat it?
